How to Use a Personality Profile

1

Fix a flat character

If a draft character feels like a costume, graft one profile onto them — the flaw grown from strength is usually the missing engine.

2

Build an ensemble

Draw profiles across different temperaments and assign them to your cast; the clashes arrive pre-installed.

3

D&D and tabletop roleplay

One line of trait-plus-want outperforms three pages of backstory at the table. Players can actually perform it.

4

Fan fiction characterization

Bend a profile toward the canon character — the gap between the two is your fresh angle on a familiar person.

5

Brief the AI on the actual character

Describe their situation ("a war medic raising her late sister's son") and AI returns profiles that fit that specific person.

Questions

Character Personality Generator FAQ

What is in a personality profile?

A one-line profile: two defining traits in tension ("soft-spoken, immovable once decided"), plus what the character secretly wants — the want is what makes scenes move.

How does this differ from the character generator?

The random character generator invents whole people (archetype, quirk, goal). This one goes deep on the interior — for characters you already have.

Can I filter by temperament?

Yes: Gentle, Driven, Guarded, Chaotic, Scheming, or Broken. AI mode also reads your character description and matches temperament to it.

Are these MBTI or Enneagram types?

No — deliberately not. Fiction runs on playable traits and wants, not test labels; these profiles are built to be performed, not scored.
