5

Questions

Random Letter Generator FAQ

How does the random letter generator work?

All 26 letters of the English alphabet sit in a pool in your browser. Each click shuffles the pool and draws one letter — no server calls, no waiting, and it works offline.

Can I generate only vowels or only consonants?

Yes. Pick "Vowels" or "Consonants" above the generate button and every draw comes only from that group — five vowels or twenty-one consonants.

Is the result truly random?

It uses a seeded pseudo-random shuffle in your browser, which is random enough for games, classrooms, and brainstorming. It is not a cryptographic random source — don't use it for security or gambling purposes.

Why would I need a random letter?

Word games like Scattergories and "I Spy", phonics practice for kids, Pictionary variants, naming brainstorms, and fair picks between players — anywhere an unbiased letter draw helps.

Can I draw letters in other alphabets?

Not yet — this generator covers the 26-letter English alphabet. The pool is simple enough that other alphabets are a candidate for a future update.
