Gesture Synth — Make Music with Hand Gestures

Overview

Gesture Synth at gesture-synth-weld.vercel.app is an interactive browser instrument by Eric Wei. Its entry screen offers a playing mode and a guide, and says that camera access is required to play. The guide describes how hand positions control chords and sound.

Key features

• Left-hand finger counts select scale degrees; tilting inward or outward selects major or minor.
• Right-hand finger counts select a root position, inversion or seventh chord; thumb position changes the octave.
• The guide offers two-handed and left-hand-only playing modes, plus an optional semitone pitch shift.

How to use it

Open the instrument and read “learn how to play” first. When you are ready, select “play now” and allow camera access. Try the left-hand gestures before adding the right-hand controls; the on-site guide lists the exact mappings.

What to check before you start

The entry page says to check silent mode and device volume if there is no sound. Camera access is required; read the product’s linked privacy statement before granting permission.
